My first KAL!

Finished part one. Seems like a fun knit so far!

Started part 2
26-08-2016
Still finishing part 2. Been having a hard time keeping pace due to distractions, lack of motivation, and the sudden desire to use beads after all.
While I was delaying knitting in order to wait for the beads to arrive, my dearest kitty Angel fell sick. She was diagnosed with a tumour in her chest.
A week later, on the 22nd of August, she suddenly passed away. It has destroyed me and my desire to do anything.
I’ll try to continue knitting soon, at least to get this off of my plate, but I’ll have to do it at my own pace.
I’m disappointed because I was doing well at first with keeping up with the updates, but it doesn’t matter now.

I’ve managed to finish part 2. I’ll need to work out the beads before I start part 3.

I’m going to skip the beads for part 3
08-01-2017
Changed mind about skipping beads
04-04-2017
Ran out of yarn just before the final row of part 3.
Remembered why I’ve taken so long to get through this pattern. Been having a combination of problems with the cable needle, the yarn, and the beading.
11-04-2017
Added new yarn and started part 4.
Had a major scare when I couldn’t work out why my row 1 ended with 6 stitches instead of 4.
Discovered I had missed a sk2po two rows below and very successfully performed knitting surgery to undo and re-knit the double decrease.
Also, BEADING WIRE! I can add the beads using beading wire! No more struggling with fraying dental floss or too small crochet hooks!

It’s finally completed! Binding off is taking a while, and I’ll have to buy a steamer to block the acrylic yarn, but it’s done!

Just got some supplies for blocking. Not enough things to block this shawl just yet, but enough to see roughly what it looks like flat.
I tried to manually adjust the photos because of the poor lighting so the colour looks a bit more pink. It’s more true to the colour than the blue-ish photos though.
It’s lovely!

Finally steam blocked this shawl. I couldn’t straighten out where the cast on is, but it looks super nice now!
