At 9” width, realized my chain edge was too tight! Ugh, frogging and restarting. Dang, it was looking pretty good too, but it was a bit long, so I can chain less stitches this time.

Ch 210.
Used a J hook to chain, then switched to a G.

About 12” wide, two crochet hooks smaller, yet my chain edge is still too snug!!! Yikes, I don’t know what to do… maybe blocking will fix it? Or, I’ll just finish and cut the chain, PU stitches somehow and make a new edge. This is aggravating, particularly as I did not have an issue with the first afghan I made from this pattern.

05/16/2013:
14” wide. Alternating white with various shades of green. Used one scrap yarn not listed in my stash.

Purchased extra yarn at a store, just for more variety. Not enough variation in the hues at the store, so checking online. Everything at the store was shades of olive drab, nothing bright, vivid or even funky; seemed like Autumn shades, not for Spring or even Summer.

Went ahead and cut the chain… pulled it out and replaced it with a temporary straight piece of yarn for now.

05/19/2013:
18” wide. Waiting on another yarn purchase, this time from an online seller. Afghan is still a bit long, next time, I’ll only chain 190 or so.

20” wide.

05/21/2013:
23” wide - barely.

24 1/2” wide seems right for a hall rug. Laid it out and it looks darn awesome on the floor. Would definitely need a rug gripper to limit slips and trips if this is laid on bare floor.
