Modifications:

Toe-up using the Backwards loop cast-on (my go-to) with 16 stitches - becomes 32 in row 2.

Fish Lips Kiss Heel - the only heel I ever use. I added a wooly nylon type yarn to the heel as there isn’t any nylon in the purple yarns - only neps, which certainly wouldn’t reinforce the heel.

Increased two stitches every 3rd row to accommodate my sturdy calves (about 15”.) Ended with 122 stitches before starting the ribbing. The sock fits perfectly on my calves but the ribbing is too loose. So….on sock #2 I will decrease about 15-20 stitches on the last round. I’m hopeful that the cuff will fit better. If not, I’ll run a couple of rows of elastic thread inside the cuff.

I changed my calf stitch increase to every 5th row on the second sock. Hope I won’t be sorry I did that.
