I like the yarn! I don’t often work with cotton or cotton blends, this Scheepjies Stonewashed is pretty nice.
As far as the pattern goes, I ran into a problem. After making the triangle part, each “chain space” is a ch-5 space. When you make the border, the instructions say to put 3 DC in each ch-5 space. That causes a curve rather than a straight line. I didn’t see any photos on the pattern page or projects showing this laid out flat, but it just feels wonky when I try to wrap it around my neck like the photo, with the triangle point hanging center front .. the triangle point curled right back on me.
So I frogged that row and tried it with 4 DC in each ch-5 space. I’m still getting a little curve, so I’m going to go with 5 DC in each ch-5 space. I want this to lay properly when it’s placed around the neck, whether it’s hanging down the back or the chest. If it curves at all, it needs to curve “roundish”, not pulling back. I think, anyway.
Second thing, is on the Row 2 instructions, she states “chain 2, turn, chain 1”. So, chain 3? Or chain 2 and stitch something somewhere, then chain 1 again? I think something’s missing there. Her testers should have pointed this out before she set it up for sale. I’m in no way trying to say it’s written poorly, just that I’m trying to figure these two issues out.

I originally purchased 5 skeins of Scheepjies Stonewashed, but only broke open the 4th skein for 15 fringes. I kid you not. 15 fringes.
So, if making this scarf again, with this yarn, I would need 4 skeins.
I would also, however, make it several rows bigger, no matter who I made it for.
