I made the mistake of starting this just because I wanted to “try out” the stitch. I’ve been wanting to wade into the waters of Tunisian crochet for a long time.

Now I’m obsessed. I can’t stop working on it. I’m enamored not only with the stitch, but with finishing one bright color so I can start the next. I’m in LOVE with this blanket, it’s going to be the happiest, cheeriest blanket EVER! Using the Lucy pack with this stitch really showcases the colors, in my opinion better than the granny or ripple stitches!

Border: (Square up the tunisian (Youtube video, can’t remember which but that’s where I got those instructions), then a SC row around in same color as always. )
Note: To prevent curling, flip the piece over so wrong side is facing up for base sc row, then slip it back over to begin with “row 1”.
Row 1: sc, ch-1, skip a stitch, repeat around.
Row 2 works only in the base row, not into row 1: over the ch-1 space, HDC into the base row, ch-1, skip a stitch, repeat around.
Row 3 is the same as row 2 except no ch-1 spaces: over the ch-1 space of row 2, HDC into row 1, sc into row2, repeat around.
Then Row 4 is #25 in Edie Eckman’s Around the Corner book. I liked it because it echos the pattern of the entrelac, and just pulled it all together. Row 3 and 4 are the same pale pink I used to square up the entrelac, which is a color NOT used in the entrelac stripes, but because I incorporated 2 colors that ARE in the entrelac stripes (blue and green), it all flows together beautifully.
