My hook is actually a (Boye) G6 / 4.25 mm. This is not available in the drop down menu.
This was purchased as a kit. Using size 2 yarn instead of size 4 means it’s going a lot slower than I’d like. I love the Bavarian stitch, and will definitely be making baby blankets with it, but definitely in a larger sized yarn!
I don’t hate this Herrschner’s yarn, but I probably won’t buy it again either. One thing I look for in a yarn is softness, and even after washing it I don’t think it’s quite soft enough. Maybe their baby yarns are softer, I dunno. So if I do make this pattern again, it won’t be in these colors or brand of yarn. And that’s okay, using different colors can make it look like a whole new pattern!
Delivered. Sunday night I took it to the prayer room and had some ladies, including the “matriarch” (pastor’s wife since they came here 65 years ago) pray over it. Yesterday, 07/29/2015 I went to a doctor’s appt with my mom. In the waiting room I pulled it out, handed it to her, and told her who all had prayed over it.
Thinking I was just showing it to her, she asked, “Who is this one for?”.
“You, Mom.”
Instant waterworks. Amazing how just knowing someone thinks about you and loves you when you’re not expecting it can do that to a person. I love my mother.

On August 13, 2016, my mother passed away. Because this little blanket was made specifically for her, and covered her the entire time she was in the nursing home, those last couple of months, it was buried with her. It brings me comfort to know that a piece of me is with her forever and forever.
