Changes I made

• I’m crocheting 12 rows for the the opening section instead of the 8 in the pattern.

• I wanted the joins for each row to be on the instep or outside of the foot. So when I marked the six stitch gap for the foot opening I made sure to fold the sock with the joins to one side.

• Instead of sewing up the heel of the slippers I continued crocheting and joined the heel using a single crochet stitch through the top loops on both halves of the heel edge. I pulled the loop from the last row through the opposite topside side of the last row and then continued to single crochet through the loops on both sides of the last heel row. This does create a ridge at the heel, but you don’t see that when the slipper is turned inside out and it’s not uncomfortable.

• These have ended up being a little bit big for my sister. I probably could have left off the grey rows at the end.
