I love to crochet this easy stitch pattern but crocheting clothing piece by piece isn’t very pleasent way to do so. I frogged my back panel 3 times and front panels ones because - even though I made a swatch and calculated size that should be oversize - it was too small.
I really would have appreciated it if the pattern had said how wide each panel have to be when crocheting them. Would have saved me from a lot of frogging.
I really love this yarn! It makes me so happy everytime I look at it.

I’m having trouble decreasing the sleeves the way I like them. Right now they are too wide and I don’t know how to fix that.

Finally fixed the sleeves. It took few trial and error there.
Sewing pieces together was definitely the hardest part and it was total ~two hours job. For me it took couple days to finish it.
The collar wasn’t piece of cake either. I wish the pattern would have said how many hdcs I need per side-dc. Instead it was “work hdc sts evenly across to opposite end of collar”.
My first attempt I realized there where way too many stitches and it took soooo much yarn and the edge was also little curly. Second attempt and the same problem. Third time I worked radically less sts than before. And of course it got way too tight.
As they (should) say, fourth time it’s the charm!
I mean, the pattern was in theory very easy and simple and crocheting it was nice and fast but with sewing and doing the collar many times was… something else. But I got to say this was worth the trouble. The cardigan looks amazing!
Note to self: It is very stressful and difficult to work clothing which need sewing and which you can’t try on as you go. Top-down cardigans are your best friends.

Used hooks:
- 5,5 mm hook for panels and sleeves
- 5 mm for collar
- 4 mm for cuff ribbing
The yarn was thinner and 5,5 mm hook smaller than the pattern recommended so I made this cardigan two sizes bigger.
