Used bear hat pattern for basic Hat shape, up to 5.25” in length. Hat was made in continuous rounds instead of joined, then transitioned right into first earflap.

Strap was 35 hdc, single strand instead of doubled.

I followed the directions for the goggle base, but instead of doing the edging with sc, I did sl stitches so that they would sit on top, and then I sl st another round in the BLO of the first round to form the side edge (and hide the goggle base). This made sewing a whole lot easier, as I could sew the side edge right to the hat, almost invisibly.
