For the scarf, I used 1 strand of wool and a 4.5mm hook. Cast on 232 chains, then starting DC in second chain from hook, so should have 230 stitches. Will work in alternating BPDC and FPDC until it’s the right width. This turned out to be 2 repeats of the rainbow, 2 rows of each colour so 24 rows in total.

For the hat, I used 1 strand of wool and, to start off with, a 4mm hook. Magic loop then 12DC, increasing by 12 every row for 7 rows, then increase by 12 again in row 9. After 12 rows, I swapped to a 4.5mm hook, did one row of DC then rows of alternating BPDC and FPDC to achieve a rib effect. I did this for two rows of each colour then one row of purple, followed by a row of SC then a round of slip stitches to give a neat edge.
