Notes

I cast on 122 chains, then did a row of SC from the second chain from the hook, making 121 stitches in total.

I’m doing a row of SC and a row of DC three times in the multi-coloured yarn then four rows of the lace. It’s the same pattern as for the South Bay Shawlette, only adjusted to be rectangular rather than triangular.

Blocked out first piece to 37 x 18 inches. It would probably have stretched out bigger but partly I thought that was big enough and partly I didn’t have space for more blocking than that!

I sewed the two rectangles together as per the pattern. Then I added a row of DC followed by a row of SC all the way round the edge. Then I did a chain of 7 stitches, SC in back loops only back to the body, then work along in SC BLO all along the edge.

I repeated this in the neckline as well, with decreases in the V-shape.
