Longer. The model that I tried on was 17” from hem to split for sleeves.
I forgot to add the amount used- I need to find what’s left and correct the “7” that I just added as a guess.
4-18-2019: needles ready to do a gauge swatch- hope I can hit it with 2s and 3s. Gauge is right ON. how rare is that (for me)?
I cast on. WTF am I thinking? 420 stitches and join “without twisting”. How will I even know if they are twisted until I get several rounds in-- and have a mobius sweater? and k4tog on round ONE? in black… so close to the cast on? Whose idea was this anyway? Good thing it’s such a pretty sweater- if I get thru it, it will be.
4-23: halfway up the lace chart. after the cast on and making sure the stitches aren’t twisted and that first round with k4tog, the rest has been a piece o’ cake and is going to be so pretty in that black!
4-25: lace is finished, now I’m on to stockinette island for a month or so. ;)
5-1: at 10” and just knitting for another 7” . Round and round and round…..
6-something or other-2019: finished the back.
7-1: started the front (above the sleeve split). great- more stockinette
7-12-2019: “just” need to pick up the neckline and finish that. AND pick up for sleeves. It is never going to be finished, I fear.
7-14: picked up for the neckline. I had to pick up more stitches than called for because my sweater is knitted at a bit tighter gauge than called for. I picked up using a 0 needle, changed back to the 2 and knitted 3 rounds before I realized the pattern said “on smaller needle”, so on round 4 I changed to a 1.5. It worked out GREAT because the neckline now lies flat and just rolls a bit at the top to make it look more “finished”.
On to Sleeve. and then- other sleeve.
7-16-2019: totally and completely finished, blocked and I’m wearing it to Day One of SSK2019 because IT FITS.
