Wonderfully shaped hat and lovely, lovely yarn. One of the best, softest and warmest yarns I have ever knit with.

This pattern is very well written. It gives dimensions of the various components making it relatively easy to work with yarns that produce other stitch and row gauges and end up with a shape similar to the original.

Notes on CO:

CO 77 very loosely.

I need an end number that is divisible by 4 so the 4 sections shape evenly. Note, the tubular CO requires you have one extra stitch beyond the divisible by 4 number for the provisional part. So you see me substracting that number off before checking if my end number is divisible by 4 or not.

I could have CO 79, 81 or 83 also:
Example 1: 79-1 = 78. 78 x 2 = 156 AND 156/4 = 39.
Example 2: 81-1 = 80. 80 x 2 = 160 AND 160/4 = 40.
Example 3: 83-1 = 82. 82 x 2 = 164 AND 164/4 = 41.
