Body = done on size 5
Placed a marker to divide front and back. Left out the ribbon eyelets, since I’m adding straps. Only knitted 13 rnds of ribbing
Used a ktbl on either side of the lace panel, becuase I didn’t like the stress on the stitch beside the sk1/k2tog/psso
Waist Shaping
Begin waist shaping when beginning lace pattern as follows:
- K1, k2tog, knit to 3 st from side marker, ssk, k1, sm, k1, k2tog, knit to 3 st from round marker, ssk, k1
- Knit 4 rnds even
- Repeat last two instructions until 48 sts have been decreased
- Knit 1” even from last decrease - on last even rnd, knit to side marker, k13 sts, pm, k24 sts, pm, knit to end
Hip Shaping
Increase until there is 17 g of yarn left as follows:
- K2, RLI, knit to 2 st from side marker, LLI, k2, sm, k2, RLI, knit to maker, LLI, sm, knit to marker, sm, RLI, knit to 2 st from round marker, LLI, k2
- Knit 4 rnds even
- Repeat last 2 instructions
Bottom Ribbing
Knit 1 row even with the contrast color to prevent the blips that occur when purling with new color
Worked 7 rnds of ribbing; bind-off in pattern
Straps = done on size 7 needles for 12”
Tried it on with my favorite bra, marked exactly where the straps hit in the front, and picked up 10 sts for the strap
Double knit the strap:
Knit 1, slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front repeat across the row
To attach, graft strap to back 10 back sts
FYI: Messed up on a couple of the lace repeats - I would randomly be a stitch short. I was too lazy to go back and fix it, so just added a stitch where needed.
December 5-14: On hiatus while I wait for KnitPicks to send another ball of the Fairy Tale colorway. I need to make the It All Comes Together Beret for my mother for Christmas (turned out too small and will have to make another, seen HERE). Also, I’m making a Green Willow Cowl = DONE!
