Will try this single stranded in wollmeise lace since wollmeise lace is on the thicker side. Went down a needle size as I don’t want my top to be see through being a lighter weight yarn. Gauge seems to be ok on pattern gauge somewhat.
May 29th, 2020 knitted up to under the armholes and tried it on but sadly this is too small. Will frog and reknit in size 37” bust. Checking my gauge against stitch counts. If I knit the 37” size, the bust area will have 188 sts (bottom of page 6). Gauge = 23sts/4inches. Then 188/23x4=32.69”. My bust is approx 35” so that gives a negative ease of about 2.5”. There must be a lot of negative ease in this pattern in general!!
July 12, 2020 progressing slowly but finally divided for armholes. I do not recommend this pattern for beginners. There’s quite a bit of having to either read your knitting or track rows when doing both the short rows and increasing at the same time. I also think the sizing is on the small side.
October 13, 2020 after knitting more, I realised when I first frogged, that I missed some rows so the armhole wasn’t deep enough. I hope it won’t be too big now. Up to the midsection short rows
November 1, 2020 tried it on and it looks good! Mr 5 commented that it looked nice so I’ll take his word for it. Photos show the purple pink brighter than it is in real life. It’s more muted than shown.
March 18, 2021 one sleeve nearly done. Have a hole in the middle of the body. Oops. Arm 2 to go
May 14, 2021 second sleeve nearly at cast off. May go back to make the body longer but this is undecided for now.
June 2, 2021 Sleeves are done. I gave it a test run wearing it and decided to make it longer.
June 21, 2021 Made the body longer and I’m much happier with it now! It’s perfect
