Probably won’t get done in time for gift-a-long but timing is similar. I’m between a size 1 and 2. I usually go for smaller but the pattern suggests more positive ease so I hope this will turn out ok in the size 2 (Edit: went down to size 1 later).

Knitted maybe 8cm but this is looking way too big. Did some gauge calculations and the finished object according to pattern gauge calculates to be 110cm at size 2. Pattern says size 2 should have finished body circumference measurements of 101cm so that’s a big difference in size.
Size 1 calculated finished body measurement is 103cm (pattern says 92cm). This uses the chart E gauge (23cm/10cm) to be equal to the left and right part of chart A, though chart A has one less lace section.
I think pattern calculations are off. I’ll be frogging. Just wondering whether to go down a needle size AND knit a size 1 or just knit a size 1.
I measured my knitting roughly and across it’s about 55cm so 110cm doubled for circumference.
Pretty much spot on for gauge vs calculated measurements.

Restarted with the smaller needles - 2.75mm - and size 1. Seems to be much better in terms of fit now :) Maybe even on the tighter side but it’s still positive ease.

Up to the armhole shaping. After trying on, I think it would be nicer on the slightly larger needles after all. But that is pre-blocking. After blocking it’ll be a wider fit.

Just finished the 3 needle bind off at the shoulders. 74g yarn left. Hope it’s enough.

Had 47g at 3/4 sleeve

Ended up buying another skein of yarn.
Finished one sleeve, then realised that I forgot the decreases. I would’ve left it as is but the other sleeve doesn’t match!! Will have to undo :(

I was afraid that the last skein wouldn’t be a good colour match because it would be dyed separately to the others but it’s an exact match. I can’t tell the difference.
Just bound off the second sleeve after having to redo it (missed the increases right at the beginning and didn’t notice until I cast off).
The i-cord neckline is a bit loose at the back picking up every stitch - it rolls outwards. The i-cord neckline seems tight around the front of the neckline. After I do the sleeves and cutouts, I might redo the i-cord neckline.
The shoulder first cutout is done but there were SO MANY ENDS to weave in. It was never ending! One more cutout to go.
This project has been slow and steady but always interesting.

63g yarn left.
Redid the icord edging on the neckline. The back was 50sts and the instructions were to pick up 50 sts along the back but then the i-cord binding rolled and showed the wrong side too much. I didn’t like it. So along the back, for every 4th stitch, did a k3tog tbl instead of k2tog tbl. I was much happier with this.
Thinking of making the bottom ribbing longer. I reduced this because the body was already quite long. Will reevaluate this after washing.
If I were to knit this again, I’d go back up one size needle and for the icord Xs on the shoulder, knit them as one piece instead of two joined in the middle to reduce ends to weave in. I took ages (like a month after the knitting was done) just to finish off because I dreaded weaving in ends!
Absolutely love the final product. Love the colour and the design.
