I love the look and feel of linen stitch in fingering weight yarns. This pattern is an excellent way to use up leftover bits of yarn; and because I frequently do fingering weight projects, I’ve quite a LOT of leftovers in a wide range of colors. So I’m starting a new scarf while waiting on yarn ordered for other projects.
It’s also a great project for mindless knitting while watching TV as you don’t need to look at the pattern. Not a particularly quick project, but worthwhile.
Knit lengthwise, I cast on 620 stitches (finished scarf will be around 80” long). It takes me about 1.25 hour to knit ONE row. So after 2 days of fairly steady knitting, my scarf is about 1.25” wide. LOL
