This is a modified version of #728 from Carol Strickler’s “A Weaver’s Book of 8 Shaft Patterns” and I have woven this before. All 8/2 cottons; 24 epi.
I loved the colours in the warp and later found it hard to get the right weft colour. The warp was busy enough without throwing a bright weft in too. I also discovered that I had missed 6, yes that’s 6 white ends in one mid stripe and so had a veritable herd of film canisters hanging off the back of the loom
So I got a total of 7 full sized towels off an 8 yard warp, and samples for my records. I laced on front and back and seriously reduced loom waste.
The weft colours are: stone ( a soft grey), Clay ( as soft off white with a hint of ivory?) and a soft turquoise green that I only had enough to weave up one towel sadly.
