Notes

I seem to have a lot of 10/2 cotton and so decided to play around this grouping of colours and use a 2 block turned will. I further complicated things by doing a thread by thread colour gradation between colour changes. It’s okay but better where the shades were closer in value. I’d leave it out next time and have clear breaks between colours.

Small tuned hems which I hand sewed. Liberal use of my steam press flattened them nicely.

I had no set plans on how to treadle the towels…. just saw what the colours did together and “wing it”. I did rotations of pirns and so kept them in order on the loom’s castle. It made for slow weaving but it went along just fine.

I planned for 6 towels and I got a bonus little side table cloth, which was timely as my husband had just bought a little side table for his den.

The Spring loom is great with loom waste and I also lace on which reduces wastage.

Fun weave and turned twill variety is endless!
