Notes

Lusekofte (pronounced “loose- kofta”) means cardigan in Norwegian. They also call them Marius sweaters after a famous athlete.

I love the intricate knit Norwegian / Scandinavian sweaters you see on ski hills and fashionable people in winter.

This shawl (I wove two actually) was my interpretation of two pictures I found on line.

I used a 12 shaft gebrochene hind und under draft from Handweaving.net and modified it to suit my needs.

Tencel sett 24 epi.

Wasn’t too bad a treadling run and went quickly. I think all the fringe twisting took far longer to complete!

Finished size after final pressing: 22” x 86” plus fringe.

It was a fun exercise to try to interpret another art form into weaving….
