I wanted to weave this 16 shaft complex twill on the Megado for some years and I finally took the plunge early in the year. All I have for a reference is “Cheryl B” sent the draft to me. Thank you Cheryl where ever you are! 10/2 mercerized cotton warp in Shell, sett 28 epi.

The wefts used were taupe tencel on one (16” x 43”), shale tencel on another (16” x 44”), and finally Sponge cotton on the last. (16” x 71”)

It seemed to be going well and it wasn’t until they were all woven and off the loom that I found skips on the back side of the cloth.

The front looks just fine! It seems one (or more) of the shafts were floating just enough to create my unseen problem. I eventually turned the hems and sewed them and they have sat in a ‘time out’ pile.

So they are officially seconds and will be priced accordingly. The label is on the bad side and the tops all look fine. Someone will love them….

I’ll try weaving this again, but I’ll be double checking my shafts before I start!
