Notes

The pattern for the hat was a basic baby beanie with added ears. I custom made those using DC and DCtog to decrease.

The booties were newborn booties that I altered. I made them a bigger size by adding a row of HDC on the sole and DCtog in the shaping while adding more stitches to the toe portion. I then added 4 rows DC to make a roll down cuff and ch ties to tighten that hide under the cuff.

The light saber was custom and the pants are just a ch 8 waist band sc in back loops for 60 rows attach in a band and 10 rows DC down and then half that and DC in the round for 30 stitches on each side for 3 rows to make the legs.

This woman’s wonderful work was the inspiration so she gets credit for the idea and the shapes. It was a custom request from a family member. I changed the light saber colors to more closely fit the movie and it looks like she had a button on the light saber, but I just added red in to the crochet to make it baby safe.

After the baby this was made for was born and ready for his photo shoot, it turned out that the hat was too small and had to be cut for the photo. :( So, next time I will use the larger basic baby beanie size. But the pants and the booties fit well. Overall, it was a success as the family was happy.
