Notes

This beautiful yarn called out to be used in this shawl. I’ll knit this for the #irishkal2023. Using larger needle and bit finer weight yarns, aiming for a bit more of an airy spring summer shawl.

Held the mohair double. Nice pattern to knit; the first bit very simple & not needing attention, & the lace section takes more attention but it’s not complex.

I ended up stopping the lace early because I was fighting with the mohair a bit, which had become quite sticky to slide along my needles. Not sure exactly why. I wiped down my (metal Chiagoo) needles but it still wasn’t moving along super well. I decided to just finish up the lace on the 17th row (of 30 lace rows.) I changed to the main colour, knit a row, and then bound off. I think this looks fine, especially as I am only 5ft 1 and with knitting at a looser gauge than in the pattern my shawl was a bit larger in that way anyhow.

I’m going to use the leftover yarns together for mitts to wear with the shawl :-)
