Notes

This was fun and it was 95% successful.

It is a new take on illusion knitting. Usually you see stripes from the front and a picture from the side. This is meant to do exactly the opposite. You see the rainbow when you stand in front but it (almost) disappears and becomes a plain grey surface when you look from the side.

I think a smoother yarn would have made the rainbow disappear completely.

I added a small edging so that it could be mounted on a board and we now have this symbol of 2020 hanging in our front window along with Delusion Rainbow Script.

I used Stylecraft Special DK. Some of my colours are a bit brighter than others because I used what was available during lockdown.

Grey: 300 metres
Red: 16 metres
Orange: 15 metres
Yellow: 13 metres
Green: 10 metres
Blue: 10 metres
Indigo: 8 metres
Violet: 7 metres
plus extra grey for the edging.
