This took me much longer to make than it should have done. There are only 60 stitches in each square so the squares should be quick and easy. I ground to a halt when I had gout in my fingers.

It was fun to make because the emojis are basically the same as those in the emoji cushion. The technique is different so when you look from in front you see yellow squares but when you look from the side you see circles.

I was making these during lockdown so used yarn I already had. From choice I think I would have used a slightly lighter shade of yellow.

I edged the squares to straighten the edges though this wasn’t strictly necessary. Then I stitched them together and added the border all round.
