It’s not often that I re-visit an existing design but I had to make an exception for this.
There are many versions of the original Curve of Pursuit. Some of them seem to be rotating squares and others have very distinct curves, depending on the colouring.
I wanted to make a version where curves and squares are equally obvious. I also wanted to use the illusion knitting techniques we have recently been developing.
Look at this afghan from directly in front and you may see coloured squares which change to become curves. Look at it from an angle and the bright colours almost disappear so you see nothing but grey.
I have made this fairly small as I intend to go on and make two more variations which I hope will show different effects. When they are all complete there will be a new pattern for them as it is not possible to follow the instructions for the original Curve of Pursuit.
It may be difficult to believe that there are just four colours used for this version. They are shown in one of the photos.
