This young lad is called Gabriel. His teacher chose him to play the Archangel in the School Nativity.
I realised that I adore Nick Butterworth and Mick Inkpen’s brilliant book ‘The Nativity’, so I decided to base my characters on school children in a school Nativity.

SANDALS: adapted Hoffsteadter pattern for boot sole.
ARMS: p46
HAIR: Wig cap using dk in 2 colours. Strands separated to create wavy appearance.
CLOTHING: He’s wearing a pair of cotton boxers and his mum’s made him an angel costume in white cotton.
HALO: crocheted ring in gold texrured yarn with wire support.
