I used sewing thread in the straight scarf, which was a mistake. Once the tension was off the warp the threaded drifted out of place. My reason for using sewing thread was because I wanted a very lightweight scarf with great drape and, more importantly, I wanted the terrific colours in the warp to dominate.

In the looped scarf version I had learned my lesson and I wove that bit off using 10/2 mercerized cotton. The drape is still good, but not as nice as the first scarf. At least the weft didn’t drift though! And I DO quite like the weft colour play I was able to get, even if if obscures the warp colours somewhat.
