First large project spinning long draw. I was hoping for about a DK weight yarn, but my 3 ply really bloomed and I had to search for a pattern that worked for a heavy “worsted weight”, or a light “aran weight”. My gauge should work perfectly for this one.
Got gauge, at least in stockinette stitch, using a 5.5mm wooden circular. Will test gauge on the textured pattern too.

My official start date with the actual knitting is August 12, but after less than 30 minutes the problems with my elbow forearm and tricep flared up. At that rate this project is going to be a long, slow go, with many months on the needles. Sigh! I had so hoped to get back to knitting this fall.

Yesterday I ripped out what I had done earlier and started again. I’m loving it, but this particular yarn and needle combination seems to irritate that Tennis Elbow issue. After several months recovering from the last bout I participated in a shawl knit-a-long done in fingeringweight and the soreness was not an issue. One afternoon working on this project again and there are hints of the trouble coming back!

All finished the knitting. I just have to wash it, SET THE DYE, and block the sweater. This handspun has been crocking like crazy through the whole knit. I’ll have to do some extra steps in the washing to somehow lock the colour in or it will stain everything I ever wear with it and every chair I sit in!
