Notes

I’d like to be able to wear this with tennies, so I’m doing the foot part plain stockinette and will start the entrelac on the leg.

4-9-11 update - I don’t like the decrease round, so I’m taking it out. Also don’t like that there’s 7 squares, so I’m changing it to 8. 8 squares at 6 st per square = 48 st. Starting from 64 st, I’ll have to decrease 16, so every 4 st becomes 3. This works out well since the triangles are 6 st. Here’s what I did on the base triangles:
R1. K2, turn
R2. sl 1, P1, turn
R3. sl 1 K1, K2tog, turn
R4. sl 1, P2, turn
R5. sl 1, K3, turn
R6. sl 1, P3, turn
R7. sl 1, K4, turn
R8. sl 1, P4, turn
R9. sl 1, K4, K2tog…do not turn. Start over with Row 1 on the next set of 8 st and repeat around for a total of 8 base triangles.

4-17-11 - thought it was long enough at knit night Friday, but didn’t have the directions for the end triangles. Brought it to work on at the fundraiser Sat, and forgot the instructions again, so just knit up another round. Had to do another one to end up at the right point, then did the end triangles like this:
End Triangle:
Pick up 5 stitches purlwise, purl 1 stitch from left needle.
Row 1: Slip 1 stitch knitwise, k1
Row 2: Slip 1 stitch purlwise, p2
Row 3: Slip 1 stitch knitwise, k3
Row 4: Slip 1 stitch purlwise, p4
Row 5: Slip 1 stitch knitwise, k5
Row 6: Slip 1 stitch purlwise, p6
Row 7: Slip 1 stitch knitwise, k5, k2tog, k1
Row 8: Slip 1 stitch purlwise, p6, p3tog
Each end triangle should have 8 live st - total 64 st.

My changes are in bold.

Got to the ribbing part - I started by slipping one st which was the first st of a triangle. I want the edges of the triangles to be purls. Then started with K2, P2 around.
