1) Stitch markers are my friend.
2) Adding 2 increase rows before sleeve separation--measured against favorite sweater.
3) Picked up more than 4 stitches under arm (as usual)--did more decrease rows before starting graduated decreases.
4) Six 160 yard skeins not enough; 7 should be.
5) Used every bit of 7 skeins; I did add 2” of body length, but think I would have run a bit short anyway.
6) Blocking brought this to life. I soaked it in Eucalan (for the usual amount of time, i.e. until I remembered that I had something soaking), squeezed out as much water as possible, then laid flat to dry. Because I may put in a 2-way separating zipper, I threaded blocking wires through the front edges, and also through the bottom edges. Everything else was just patted or lightly pinned in place. Comparing the almost done photo to the finished and blocked photo, you can see what a difference this made.
