3 & 4 color rows were addressed using duplicate stitch option.

I worked from both a printed chart and Knit Companion. In either case, I drew in a line to divide the chart (which repeats three times) into two sections. This improved my ability to stay on track.

Following completion of the main colorwork (2 colors per row) I used contrasting sock yarn back stitched between columns of stitches, 16 columns per section.

I recommend duplicate stitching one full chart repeat (two sections, as divided by sock yarn markers) at a time. Start by completing the dark green trees; they are the highest contrast color, and provide good anchoring for determining placement of other colors. I did the lightest green next (scattered at the bottom of the chart) and then the small amount of medium green and the natural.

I printed out three copies of the chart, and marked out the completed duplicate stitches as I finished them.

Final note: I for sure made a few mistakes with this chart, both in the first knitting and when adding the duplicate stitch. The pattern is very forgiving--I couldn’t find these errors now if I tried.

Yarn remaining:

Dark green: 8g
Natural: 5g
Medium green: 4g
Light green: 7g
