Gauge before washing: 25 st/32 rows/10 cm
Gauge after washing: 25 st/40 rows/10 cm

Gauge of sweater should be 27 st/38 rows/10 cm

I will wash the sweater for a firmer fabric, smaller row gauge. Horizontally, I want the 45” size, but will use the numbers for the next smaller size to get the right circumference at my gauge.

Note on the fulling: at some Stitches event long ago, I learned that it is best to stitch the edges together before fulling in the washing machine. In this case, I used thin linen yarn to sew the braided edges back-to-back, hoping that would reduce the curling. I think it did!
