Notes

The plan is to make a backpack for my oxygen concentrator so that I can wear it and do tai chi. The body of the backpack has to let the air in, so I thought I’d modify the bag pattern to make it fit and then to weave some shoulder straps.

Cast on 60 and don’t increase on round 4. I should have knit more plain rows for the base, but no biggie. The horizontal stitch (Estonian braid) is tight, but not too tight. Before row 25 (last row), give yourself some holes for a drawstring with k2, k2tog, yo around, then another knit row.

For the weaving, the yarn repeat is 60”, so I warped up 120”. Ran out of black before the wide borders on the United Chicken Runs pattern from Applesies and Fox Noses, oh well. Narrow borders are good too!
