Just like in Monet’s Waterlillies, dappled pools of light alternating with subtle ripples are the basis of this lovely bias-knit wrap. The scarf size is just right for throwing on with a light jacket while the wrap provides a luxurious covering whether you’re attending an event or just knitting at home in your chair.
The patterning shifts between dropped-stitch cables (pools of light) and purl ridges (subtle ripples) so you’ll never get bored with the knitting. If you haven’t done dropped-stitch cables, don’t worry, they are much easier than they seem and the knitting goes really quickly with them. The entire scarf/wrap is bordered by a garter-stitch edging to provide an even finish with plenty of stretch.
When choosing a yarn for this project, opt for something that has a wonderful drape (and maybe a slight sheen) to make the best use of the textures and nature of the finished fabric. You’ll be so glad that you did!
