Specs

This is not the easiest treadling pattern to date, but it isn’t the hardest either. The 8/2 warp and 8/4 weft (with 8/2 tabby) is probably not the right yarn for overshot. And it is probably best sett at 15 epi if it is.

I think that next time, I’ll try this in 16/2 cotton with 8/2 for pattern weft.

For towels, the yarn is probably too heavy. I’d say for a table mat, it is probably just right.

If I do this again, I’ll make it for 3 repeats of the pattern in the center with three repeats of ((( and ))) on either side.
Probably 8 repeats of the pattern vertically. Sett = 16 epi. Black warp and tabby (8/2 cotton), vieil or weft (8/4 cotton).

Seeing as there are errors reported in the draft, it might be wise to get out the graph paper and pencils before doing any warp calculations.

@ 20 epi, circles will be 3” in diameter.
I think that 8/2 would be sett at about 18 epi.

Repeat for each double marquise and X across the warp. (I guess this could also be called a circle, if I refocus my eyes and look at the drawdown a little differently.)

I finished the first repeat today. It’s too narrowly sett.
Going for 18 dpi and seeing what happens.

Finish re-sleying.

Started weaving again. It’s still too narrowly sett.

Finished weaving the sample. To 16.

Resleyed to 16 epi.
It’s looking closer to round.
We will see after it is wet finished.
