Notes

The royals had it all: they wrapped themselves in white mink capes decorated with black sable tails. This short cardigan is inspired both by the 1950s and Baroque royal fashion. Certainly, animal fur is replaced with wool and mohair.

The cardigan is knitted from the bottom up, has a round neck, fitted sleeves with optional puffs and button closure at the front. The bodice is worked flat, while the sleeves can be worked in the round up to the armholes. The sleeves are knitted in contrasting color and are decorated with small “feathers” in the main color. The pattern of the bodice consists of knit and purl stitches, eyelets and slipped stitches. The last make fine vertical lines adding even more femininity to the cardigan.
Very happy with the puffed sleeves and the little “feathers” in contrasting color. This is going to be sooo 50ies!
