Notes

Here you have a completely improvised sweater from leftover yarns and stashed random skeins that just sat there in the box without a plan.
The name “Sommerhytte” means summer cottage in Norwegian and it is in our mountain cabin in Valdres I’ve started and completed the sweater, knitting mostly in the weekends, in the car or and in front of the fire place after our skiing trips.
The sweater is knitted top-down with a high colar with a two button detail in the back. I wanted a wawy effect on the yoke, so the increases are substantial and made right below the neckline.
For a slightly fitted expression I used darker colors and twisted knit stitch ribbing around the waist.
The button details are repeated on the cuffs.
The main idea was to knit in reverse stockinnette to make all the random pinks and reds to blend smoothly with the main green and turquoise.
The sweater is knitted in the round in stockinette. I let the tails stay on the “right” side and then used the sweater inside out. Clever, isn’t it?
