Provisional tubular CO

I do short rows on the front bodice in order to upper the front center before I start with lace pattern.

“European Shoulder Seam (ESS)” in the back: short rows as follows: 6,6,4,4,11x1 than 2 rows purl.

Almost finished….or not? I am running out of yarn. There is just 10 grams (see pic 4) left to finish the sleeves ?!?!?!?!?

Almost - Almost finished! Just need to weave in the ends….The very little remaining yarn (~2g) of “The uncommon thread” will be knitted up for a bow to add to the 40ies style.

Yes, it came out quite different from the original. The sweater adopted a 40ies vintage style while evolving. I think a bow is not a must-have, but would add a little play-fullness.
Finally I decided on a melange of Schulana Kid-Seta in a greenish yellow and Merino 400 from Lang Yarns in a greenish brown.

I wanted to have an protruding shoulder line. So I experimented with short rows just as you would do when knitting a heel for socks.

The neckband starts with 4 rows of “The uncommon thread” and is continued with the Kid-Seta/Merino melange. I ended up with short rows here as well, in order to have a neckline that is slightly shorter in the front than the back.

Well this was a hard one - once I realized that I did not have enough yarn. Lessons learned: Yardage of a pattern is not a guarantee. All in all I am pretty satisfied by the FO…..to mention that my first intent was different ;-)))

Thank you VERY MUCH for ALL of you who gave me very useful and inspirational ideas on how to finish this sweater. It helped a lot!!!
