March 2010 I dubbed this shawl ‘Perfect for Perfectionists’. So I had decided to pull through and finish the shawl - without mistakes in it. And while knitting it, I had a light bulb moment. One of the reasons I love lace knitting is it’s one of those things in life where I can achieve (near) perfection and it actually works out. When I see a flaw, I always go back to repair the mistake (I know tons of people who don’t and good on them as I certainly don’t judge them on it). My perfectionism in life has been a pain in the butt at times. Quite often no perfect result is wanted or needed or even achievable, but I keep beating myself up over still wanted to do things perfect. Now I have found something to pour in my desire to make something perfect.

February 2010 Decided to finish all my WIPS and WIHS, so I gave the Faux Russian Stole another go. To make things easier, I placed additional stitch markers, photocopied the chart and used a chart keeper and post-it’s to see what row I was working on.

October 2009 Casted on knit the border, but noticed a mistake so I frogged the stole. Casted on and knit the border and 1 and a 1/2 repeat. Forgot to knit the garter stitches between the border and the repeat. Frogged again. Started again. Knit the border, garter stitch border, 1 and a 1/2 repeat and decided to take a (long) break. I kept making mistakes which I then wanted to repair and got fed up with it.
