Notes

July 2009 Just finished blocking this lovely scarf, which took a while to knit as I always have several projects going on.

The shawl is divided up as you start knitting a border, than continue working on the center section, then knitting the other border and finally grafting the border to the rest of the shawl. Mind you, the part between the border and center part should be in garter stitch and I accidently did it in stockinette stitch.

The nupps are not difficult to knit, as long as you make sure to make the loops wide enough to be able to purl through the back and make all the nupps the same size. There is this excellent tutorial video by Nancy Bush herself on how to make nupps.

The repeats, though fairly simple, offer enough variety not to bored, even though it is of course a long knit considering the size. In end it’s really worth the effort, as the result is gorgeous.

I liked knitting with the Shadow Lace yarn and I just love the color. The yarn itself is slightly variegated, which gives the shawl a bit more depth.
