→ Edit du 25 Février 2026 : Cela fait quelque temps que, en portant cette écharpe, je me disais qu’elle serait plus sympa et confortable en snood. Heureusement, grâce à la magie du fait main et puisqu’il me restait encore une pelote et demie de gris souris, c’était toujours possible ! J’ai donc cousu, sur l’envers, les deux extrémités au point de matelas en piquant sous les deux brins des mailles serrées des derniers rangs. La couture est ainsi quasiment invisible et jolie.

→ Après avoir fini les mitaines A Kingdom Far, Far Away, il me restait pas mal de fils Bergère de France Calinou. J’ai donc sauté sur l’occasion pour me crocheter une écharpe assortie à ces mitaines, même si j’ai dû racheter une pelote de chaque couleur.

→ Après quelques recherches, je suis tombée sur le patron de Michael Snow et, surtout, de la version de Katikreativvilaga. Je me suis beaucoup inspirée de cette dernière, trouvant le résultat plus féminin et plus large, ce qui me conviendrait mieux.

→ J’ai donc fait des essais de combinaisons de rayures via un logiciel pour me décider sur le rendu final et sur la longueur qu’allait avoir l’écharpe, sachant qu’une demi-pelote permet de crocheter environ 3,5 diamants.

→ J’ai crocheté l’écharpe ainsi :
- En coloris gris souris, j’ai monté, au crochet classique 5mm, 43 mailles en foundation slip stitch puis j’ai fait le rang de fondation au crochet tunisien 5,5mm.
- Toujours en coloris gris souris, j’ai crocheté 4 rangs en point nid d’abeille et 1 rang en point tunisien simple envers.
- Puis sont venues les sections avec le motif de diamant : 1 section de 6 diamants en coloris poivre ; 1 section de 5 diamants en coloris gris souris ; 1 section de 4 diamants en coloris poivre ; 1 section de 5 diamants en coloris gris souris ; 1 section de 6 diamants en coloris poivre. À noter que j’ai commencé et fini chaque section par la pointe des diamants.
- Ensuite, en coloris gris souris, j’ai crocheté 1 rang de point tunisien simple envers et 4 rangs de point nid d’abeille.
- J’ai fini le travail au crochet tunisien avec 1 rang de point tunisien simple en mailles coulées, au crochet classique et en crochetant lâche, toujours en coloris gris souris.
- Pour finir, j’ai réalisé une bordure au crochet classique au point d’écrevisse en crochetant relativement lâche : avec le travail sur l’endroit, j’ai attaché un nouveau fil dans le coin droit du dernier rang et j’ai crocheté sur toute la longueur en changeant de couleur pour respecter celle des sections. J’ai coupé le fil et j’ai répété l’opération pour l’autre longueur. Les mailles coulées faisant déjà office de bordure, je n’ai pas crocheté au point d’écrevisse sur les largeurs.

→ Contrairement au schéma, je n’ai pas mis de franges, estimant que les rangs en point nid d’abeille faisaient une jolie finition sur les extrémités.

→ L’écharpe mesure environ 184cm de long sur 19cm de large.

→ Le fil Calinou de Bergère de France est très agréable à travailler au crochet tunisien également. Du fait de la légèreté des points du crochet tunisien, l’écharpe est souple et toute douce : elle sera confortable et chaude à porter en automne et en hiver !

→ Edit of February 25, 2026: For some time now, while wearing this scarf, I’ve been thinking that it would be nicer and more comfortable as a snood. Fortunately, thanks to the magic of handmade crafts and since I still had a ball and a half of gris souris left, it was still possible! So I sewed the two ends together on the wrong side using a mattress stitch, stitching under the two strands of the single crochets of the last rows. The seam is almost invisible and looks nice.

→ After finishing the A Kingdom Far, Far Away mittens, I had quite a bit of Bergère de France Calinou yarn left over. So I jumped at the chance to crochet myself a scarf to match these mittens, even if I had to repurchase a ball of each color.

→ After a bit of research, I came across Michael Snow’s pattern and, especially, Katikreativvilaga’s version of it. I took a lot of inspiration from the latter, finding the result more feminine and wider, which would suit me better.

→ So I tried out a few combinations of stripes using a software program to decide on the final look and the length of the scarf, bearing in mind that a half-ball enables you to crochet around 3,5 diamonds.

→ I crocheted the scarf as follows :
- In gris souris color, I crocheted, with a 5mm (H) regular crochet hook, 43 stitches in foundation slip stitch then I made the foundation row with a 5,5mm (I) tunisian crochet hook.
- Still in gris souris color, I crocheted 4 rows of honeycomb stitch and 1 row in tunisian purl simple stitch.
- Then came the sections with the diamond pattern : 1 section of 6 diamonds in poivre color ; 1 section of 5 diamonds in gris souris color ; 1 section of 4 diamonds in poivre color ; 1 section of 5 diamonds in gris souris color ; 1 section of 6 diamonds in poivre color. Note that I started and finished each section with the tip of the diamonds.
- Then, in gris souris color, I crocheted 1 row in tunisian purl simple stitch and 4 rows of honeycomb stitch.
- I finished the tunisian crochet work with 1 row in tunisian simple stitch in slip stitches, with a regular crochet hook and loosely, still in gris souris color.
- To finish, I made a border with a regular crochet hook in crab stitch, crocheting relatively loose : with the work on the right side, I attached a new thread in the right-hand corner of the last row and crocheted the whole length, changing color to match the sections. I cut the thread and repeated the operation for the other length. As the slip stitches already acted as borders, I didn’t crochet in crab stitch on the widths.

→ Contrary to the diagram, I didn’t put fringe on, figuring that the honeycomb stitch rows made a nice finish on the ends.

→ The scarf is about 184cm (72.4”) long and 19cm (7.5”) wide.

→ Bergère de France’s Calinou yarn is also very pleasant to work with in tunisian crochet. Thanks to the lightness of the tunisian crochet stitches, the scarf is soft and supple : it will be comfortable and warm to wear in autumn and winter !
