Notes

This was the wedding gift I made for my best friend and his lovely bride-to-be.

I wanted to make the blanket a little larger, so I made 48 squares (6x8). Each square took me about 3 hours.

After several frustrating attempts at joining squares, I decided to make the squares individually and sew them together afterward. This added significant time to the project, but it saved me from having to turn a huge blanket around and around, and it made it WAY more portable. I knit these squares everywhere, from my room to an airplane to a hospital room and everywhere in between.

I used a lot more yarn than I originally intended. I also added an I-cord border to the edge to give it a little more polish.

January 4, 2017: 4/48 squares completed.
March 20, 2017: 18/48 squares completed.
May 8th, 2017: 29/48 squares completed. Feels like I’m never going to finish this damn thing.
July 9, 2017: Finally finished!! Just in the nick of time.
