Since I used a DK weight yarn, I followed the Maine Baby Hat pattern: CO 80 stitches on size 5 needles.

For the ears I followed the Yoda pattern, but cast on 30 stitches. I did short rows until there were 14 stitches on the left needle, then bound off. It gives the ears a nice curve!

Made for a 3 month old baby - the hat fit him perfectly.
