I made this previously w/ cotton yarn (worsted weight) and also some leftover Berroco DK Sport/Baby yarn. I liked the lighter yarn better.

I tried it tonight with DMC Cotton Perle - AWESOME! I feel like it’ll wear better. It goes right on my keychain w/ my car/house keys and goes through a rough day. I LOVE HAVING NON-LOSE’ABLE LIP BALM!

For using the DMC Cotton Perle: use 2 strands together and a 2.75mm hook. I like using Susan Bates brand b/c I like the hook part. Because it is thinner than the pattern yarn - you have to add a round between 2 & 3 on the pattern. Increase 5 x’s making it to be 15 st. Round 2A: (2sc in next st sc in next st) 5 times. Then just continue on for the real Round 3.

I also start with a magic ring, ch1 sc5, then sl to close round 1. Ch 1, then 2sc in each around and sl to beginning ch 1. Start again Round 2A w/ a ch1 then close the rd w/ a sl. I still did round 3 starting with ch1 and then sc in back loop and closed w/ sl in beginning ch. Then I started in the round/spiral like amigurmi for the rest.
