6/9/15 - I brought this along on an autumn trip because the bottom of the body was something I could knit while talking (social knitting!) but then I had to pay much closer attention to the shaping of the armholes & fronts. The stitches are very small and this yarn is a little bit fuzzy so it was hard to see in winter light, so I put it down for a (long) while, but this weekend I picked it up again (trying to finish some of my UFOs). Front & back are done, I used the “three needle bind-off” method to join the shoulders, I’m now working my way down one of the sleeves.
11/6/14 - this is coming along slowly because it’s fine gauge, but I don’t mind. The resulting fabric is very “drapey” and the alpaca fiber is SO SOFT. The diagonal pattern is a little hard to see because of the marled color of the yarn, but that’s ok. I think it will be more evident when I’m wearing it.
So I gauged and a size 2 will get gauge for the body. I had to buy a 29” circular needle. I would have also bought a size 1 in 29”, but I went to THREE craft stores and none had that size - they either don’t carry it, or it was out of stock. So I decided to use a 0 for the bottom ribbing. It is really challenging to join 272 stitches in the round without twisting them!!

This has been a WIP so long that I’ve lost weight. This is going to be rather large on me. But, I think it will be very cozy and comfy. Hopefully it won’t “grow” too much because of the alpaca……
