I’m making the 38” and although I got gauge on the 3s, I’m using the 4s… Want to make it a little bigger than the 38 but not as big as the 45.5”. On the 4s the back is measuring 20”. Just right! This lace pattern is a bit tricky, but I made a much bigger photocopy of the grid. That helps my eyes!!
7/17 - I think that this yarn was at a discount store because it was overspun. It kinks up quite a bit - I have to periodically allow it to unwind and relax (although once it’s actually knitted it behaves). Also, I have to pay a lot of attention to this lace pattern - the variant “start” and “end” points in the chart play havoc with my eyes & brain. I am going to make a set of charts that pertain to MY size for the front right and front left. Trying to decode the chart each time I start a row has made me make a lot of mistakes (and tinking back in lace is awful). This might be a time for using lifelines….
8/17 - finished the knitting this week. Pieced it together most of today. Wow, there’s a lot of sewing involved here. However, all the puzzle pieces are fitting together nicely, including the set-in sleeves, which can often be tricky. I will be lucky to have enough yarn to finish this… And I started thinking that I would have FAR more than enough (I wonder if the yardage on the band ball was incorrect).
9/6 - finished! Photos to come! And I have one ball to spare! Whew!
