1) used Twisted German Cast On method, which I learned from watching this video.

2) did corrugated ribbing after looking at some on-line info/resources

First time ever doing both these techniques but super easy to learn!

As of yet, I haven’t decided whether to do skull in third color as intarsia … we’ll see.

5/21/09 - did three rows with skull intarsia-d pink and it didn’t look good at all. Need more intarsia practice, me thinks. Frogged back and am doing skull normally. Will post updated picture soon.

5/22/09 - charted knitting is now finished. The hat is more kid-sized than adult-sized, but not a problem.

Need to figure out my proportional decreases at this point. So far I’m not happy with what I started with, but it’s fixable/do-able within plenty of time for fair submission.

Oh, and I’m taking suggestions for a name for my styrofoam head, so leave me a comment with your ideas!

Final comments on F.O. - smaller than I thought it would be, but that’s all the yarn I had. Will be entered in children’s knitted section at fair.

I’m pleased with how it turned out (other than I can’t wear it!) and I didn’t mess up the chart at all!
