Followed pattern exactly, except button holes - only did 4 per flap instead of all the way around bottom of sweater.

Did a crochet edging & 2x2 ribbing for sleeves.

Still need buttons to completely finish.

This pattern is totally knitted origami - you just have to trust in the genius that is Elizabeth Zimmerman.

ETA:

I finally got to meet the baby (and Momma) this was knit for and learned that he’s still a tad too small to wear it all yet.

As soon as his Mom saw me, she gave me a huge Thank You and complimented me on how the ensemble didn’t look “homemade” (lol) She also promised to send me pictures as soon as he is big enough to sport these items.

Now having met little Gannon, I’m hankering to knit him several more things.

Nothing wrong with quick knits that are really appreciated, that’s for sure!
