This was not a fast afghan to make. It took me longer than I thought it would because I went into my single crochets a little different than I normally do to prevent a few gaping holes. At the end, my hands hurt from using this yarn. Don’t get me wrong--I love the yarn and their color selection, but it gets stiff to work with. I always try to use a bigger hook with this yarn.

I didn’t really make any changes to the pattern other than I changed the stripes sequence. It would have been mind numbing to do 20 rows of the dark blue, verses the 10 rows I did. I also added a few rounds of sc to the edge and finished off with a round of sc, chain 1 to add a bit of interest. I omitted the fringe because I really dislike adding fringe….

These photos do not do the colors of this afghan justice. It’s so pretty. It’s one of my favorites that I have ever made! This pattern would be great when done in favorite team colors! I will most likely make it again, but not for quite sometime. My husband loves it so much he wants to keep it. :) Actually, it’s a gift for a cousin who recently was paralyzed from the waist down. I made the size his mother specified.
